Alchemical Vessels, exhibit at Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery, opening March 18th.

The vessel for this year's exhibit is the Cigar Box. Each artist is asked to transform the cigar box by means of his of her own personal aesthetic and medium into a healing vessel. I formed clay birds mounted at varying elevations on plexi rods and attached them to the box. These birds operate as agents of healing as they fly into the box. or toward an area of need. The box is lined with markings which are interpretations of bird songs.
